The organizations included in our search list must be well established and the information presented must be relevant and of high quality. All our work relies on the organization's current accounting system. Most of the organizations presented in our search are reviewed by the Swedish Collection Control (SFI) and have a so-called 90-account as a guarantee that they are working seriously with their funds. In cases where an organization does not have a 90-account, we review their financial statements to make sure they meet requirements similar to those SFI sets. Our primary focus is that at least 75% of the funds raised go to support their mission. Organizations that lose their 90-accounts or do not meet the SFI requirements are promptly removed from our Giving Guide. Learn more about SFI & FRII. How is information acquired? Our work is based on the organizations' annual reports, business plans, information material, and websites. We use this information to create a template that we ask the organization to complete and verify prior to publication. What information is presented in the guide? All information that we have asked the organization to verify is published with the financial statements. The description of the organization's activities are divided in three tabs. Tab 1: Introduction Basic contact information and an introduction to the organization.
Tab 2: Focus Further information about the organization's internal / external work.
Tab 3: Financials Provides a compilation of the organization's financial reports based on Charity Rating’s reporting structure. The specific organization's four most recent financial statements are included with three explanatory diagrams.
Is the information verified by the organization? All organizations are presented using the same template and have been asked to provide information and to verify what we publish. The depth of information differs between the different organizations because they are not all as detailed in the descriptions of their activities, but also they choose to cooperate with us in varying degrees. All associations are marked with the symbols that indicate how cooperative they were and how well they have provided and verified the information we have published. > : The organization has provided all documentation Charity Rating has called for creating a complete description of the business. > : The organization has not provided all the information we have requested. The result is that the description of the operation is not complete and / or some years are missing in the financial report. The organization has not always verified the information we have published. > : The organization has provided inadequate information. In some cases they have not responded at all to Charity Rating's inquiry. This means that the description of the organization is insufficient and / or that the financial statements are incomplete or lacking. The organization has not verified that the information we have published is an accurate description of the business. How is the Giving Guide updated and expanded? We are continually working to expand our Giving Guide. This means that we continually add organizations that our users find interesting. We encourage our members to submit suggestions for organizations that they want to see included in the Giving Guide.
